What Does a Property Valuation Entail?

What Does a Property Valuer Do?

As a property valuer, you will be doing all of the above to figure out the value of the property that you are viewing. Your day may include planning valuation visits with property owners, and then visiting multiple properties to perform valuations. These valuations will include speaking with the property owners, management companies or landlords to discuss the details of their property in order to provide them with an accurate valuation and looking at various documentation.

You may also be taking pictures of the property for later review and to include in the report that you present to your client, as well as taking measurements of the interior and exterior of the property. You will also be providing your client with advice on how they can improve the exterior and interior of the property in order to add to its existing value.

As a property valuer you need to have good communication skills, as you will be liaising with property owners and managers regarding the valuation of their property. You also need to have good skills when it comes to collating data and information, and creating reports as this will be a part of your role. As a property valuation is so crucial for a property owner to have done correctly, you need to be very thorough and meticulous with your approach.
