Location - Hitchin
Salary - £30,000-£32,000
Working hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5:30pm 


Our client is a well-established property management company based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, with more than 35 years of experience in the residential property sector. Founded in 1988, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering professional property management, block management, lettings support, and landlord services to private clients, corporate organisations, and estate agencies throughout the region.


An opportunity has arisen for a Lettings Account Administrator to join this friendly professional Team.


In this role you will oversee the client accounting daily operations. Your responsibilities include reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts. To be successful in this role, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and be familiar with bookkeeping, preferably in the Lettings and Property Management Industry.


You will work closely with their accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and monthly journal entries. Their ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports for agents and private portfolio. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to work with a team.

The Role



  • Completing daily bank reconciliation of all receipts across all R&R lettings & block bank accounts and cashbooks

  • Daily uploading of rent and payments and invoices onto Vebra Alto system

  • Resolving landlord queries via email and telephone

  • Investigating and proactively resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices via the completion of a weekly and monthly Debtors Report, liaising directly with landlords & clients to ensure prompt payment

  • Assist with completing payment requests, including refunds and deposit releases ahead of each payment run

  • Liaising with PM’s, issuing and re-issuing invoices as well as issuing credit notes

  • General accounts administration including banking, filing and retrieval of paperwork

  • Chasing Arrears/ Credit Control

  • Inputting of receipts and payment of contractor invoices for our Block Management clients via MyBlockman system.

  • Weekly payment of commission to our partner agents

  • Ensuring financial management is accurate and effective.


Requirements



  • Proven work experience as a Management Accounts Administrator or similar role

  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations

  • Hands-on experience with accounting software Xero

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)

  • Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors

  • Good organizational and time-management abilities

  • Knowledge of Vebra Alto & MyBlockman will be beneficial


Experience:



  • Bookkeeping: 5 years (required)

  • Lettings Accounts: 3-5 year (preferred)

  • Client Account: 3 year (required)

  • Accounting: 5-7 years (required)
