Head of Property Management - Islington


Salary: £40,000 + Bonus OTE £50,000


Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm


 


We are offering a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Head of Property Management with drive and a can-do attitude, to work autonomously within an established independent Estate and Lettings Agency, based in Islington.


We are looking for candidates who are experienced in all aspects of property management can manage a team of property managers with ease.  This Company has a great portfolio of properties. Your experience as a Head of Property Management in a busy office means you will be highly organized and self-sufficient feeling confident enough to jump straight in!

Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Management



  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Property Management team

  • Set clear performance targets and KPIs

  • Recruit, train, and develop staff

  • Conduct regular appraisals and performance reviews

  • Foster a high-performing, compliant, customer-focused culture


Operations & Compliance



  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, including:

  • Landlord & Tenant Act

  • Gas Safety, EPC & EICR regulations

  • Deposit protection legislation

  • Right to Rent requirements

  • Coordinate tenancy renewals, rent reviews, and periodic tenancies

  • Implement and maintain robust SOPs and audit processes

  • Act as escalation point for complex tenancy and compliance matters


Client Management



  • Build strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and contractors

  • Handle high-level complaints and dispute resolution

  • Advise landlords on legislation, rent levels, and portfolio performance

  • Support business retention and landlord satisfaction


Financial Management



  • Maximise revenue through renewals, rent reviews, and value-added services

  • Control costs while maintaining service quality


Process Improvement & Strategy



  • Review and improve systems, processes, and workflows

  • Support CRM / property management software optimisation

  • Contribute to business strategy and growth initiatives

  • Ensure smooth collaboration with Lettings, Accounts, and Sales teams


Person Specification


Essential



  • Proven experience in a senior property management role

  • Strong working knowledge of UK residential lettings legislation

  • Experience managing teams and setting KPIs

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Commercially aware with a strong compliance focus


Desirable



  • ARLA/Propertymark qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience managing large residential portfolios

  • Experience in process improvement or departmental restructuring
